Charles Jeffrey Loverboy
From the nightclub to the streets
After ten years in the game, CHRISTOPHER KANE is not afraid to say what’s on his mind. For bicoastal designers ECKHAUS LATTA, honesty is a form of radical connection. Pop sensation LALEH is in LA pushing boundaries, while ADRIÁN VILLAR ROJAS uses art to explore the very notion of them. LINA SCHEYNIUS shows us what intimacy looks like. OCEAN VUONG’s poetry brings an outsider’s perspective. HEDI SLIMANE and SAINT LAURENT, the final collection. Without risk, no reward.
From the nightclub to the streets
For our autumn/winter 2016 issue, photographer Lina Scheynius shot model and actress Lily McMenamy in a flat in central London. Afterwards, they had a little chat with each other, taking as their inspiration Arthur Aron’s The Experimental Generation of Interpersonal Closeness. That is, 36 questions to make you fall in love.
No music. No elaborate set. Just the voice of Bénédicte de Ginestous calling out the numbers of the looks as Hedi Slimane showed what would be his last collection for Saint Laurent. Because in the end, it was always about the clothes.
A note on the issue

Meet Ocean Vuong, the poet who speaks between the words.
